Getting to the Museum from Ramsey

Go to southern end of the Great Whyte (towards the Banks). Turn left into High Street, onto the B1096 in the direction of Ramsey Forty Foot. Pass St. Thomas à Becket Church (to your right), and round the Duck Pond (to your left). To the right there is a sign for the Museum and a farm track, this track leads directly to the Museum parking area. If you get to the Cemetery (to your left), you are past it.

Getting to Ramsey

Ramsey town is situated on the edge of the Fenland in the heart of Cambridgeshire, approximately 25 miles north west of Cambridge, 13 miles south east of Peterborough, 11 miles north east of Huntingdon, 18 miles west of Ely and 80 miles north of London.

From the A1

From the North leave the A1(M) at junction 16 (Norman Cross). Follow the signs round the junction roundabout to B1043 Holme and Ramsey. Look on your left for the B660 to Holme and Ramsey.
From the South leave the A1(M) at junction 14 (Alconbury). Follow the signs round the junction roundabout to B1043 Holme Ramsey. Look on your right for the B660 to Holme and Ramsey.

Follow the B660 east (across a level crossing) until Ramsey St. Mary's, then turn right onto B1040 followed by a left turn immediately across a bridge. You will pass Ramsey St. Mary's church (to your right) and see the (old) River Nene to your left. The B1040 will take you to the High Street in Ramsey.

From Peterborough

Take the A605 towards Whittlesey. Immediately after crossing a bridge turn right onto the B1095 to Pondersbridge. At Pondersbridge turn right onto the B1040, cross a bridge and turn left onto ???? through Ramsey Mereside. Past Ramsey Mereside cross another bridge and come to a tee junction.

For the Museum turn left. At the next tee junction turn right onto the B1096. When you see the Cemetary to your right, look to your left for the farm track which leads to the Museum parking area.

For Ramsey town turn right and follow the road to the Great Whyte.

From the A14

Leave the A14 at the A141 (Huntingdon) junction. Continue on the A141 past Huntingdon, following the signs to March. Clear of Huntingdon, look for the B1040 sign to Warboys and take the Warboys road to your left. The B1040 will lead you through Warboys and Bury directly to Ramsey High Street.

By Rail

The closest rail links are Huntingdon and Peterborough, both approximetely 11 miles away and both on the main rail route from London to Edinburgh.

Huntingdon is served by the West Anglian and Great Northern (WAGN) company which connects Huntingdon with London Kings Cross by a frequent 50 minute service.

Peterborough is served by the Great North Eastern Railway (GNER) in addition to WAGN and several other train companies.

By Bus

There are regular bus services to Huntingdon, Peteborough and St. Ives. Long distance coaches making countrywide connections, can be picked up at Huntingdon or Peterborough.
